Celebrate the best of local and British food with Oldbury's this Feel Good Fortnight

Oldbury's, the independent delicatessen, is supporting Feel Good Fortnight by celebrating the best of local and British food. During the event, which takes place between 17 - 31st May, customers can sample a new spring menu in the coffee lounge and take advantage of special promotions and competitions through out the store.

Oldbury's coffee lounge will be supplementing its very popular menu with dishes created especially for Feel Good Fortnight. Highlights include a 'pea, asparagus and parmesan tart', a 'chorizo frittata', 'butternut squash and Buche de Chevre goats cheese' and 'potato and spinach' salads, and a range of gluten free cakes. This joins Oldbury's classic deli platters and home made quiches, soups, cakes and scones.

Customers will also be able to recreate the recipes at home by picking up special recipe cards, and taking advantage of offers on the featured ingredients.  And as Feel Good Fortnight coincides with Coeliac Awareness Week, many of the offers will feature items from Oldbury's extensive range of gluten free ingredients, cooking sauces and treats.

During the fortnight, every customer will have the chance to win a hamper from Oldbury's beautiful new hamper range, by simply answering a question found on Oldbury's Newsletter 'Eat Well @ Oldbury's.*

There will also be some half term fun for families. From 24th May until 31st May, all children's meals will be half price. Oldbury's children's menu features a 'delisaurus platter' of meat and cheeses served with dinosaur shaped wholegrain bread and a 'Sarniesaurus' hummus sandwich cut in the shape of a dinosaur. All meals come with vegetable dippers and an Eager fruit juice or Ella's Kitchen fruit pouch.

Children under 12 can enter a Feel Good colouring competition to win an Oldbury's goodie bag. There are two categories; one for 'under 6s' and one for 'under 12s'.**

Simon Carr, Oldbury's founder, said "We believe everyone should have access to choice and quality on the high street, and Feel Good Fortnight is a superb way to showcase all that West Berkshire and Britain has to offer. We're really excited to be taking part and have worked hard to develop a menu and range of offers that will give people the confidence to try something new and make changes, however small, to the food they eat and the way they feel."

Simon, and Oldbury's assistant, Samantha Crowe, have recently been awarded their level 2 accreditation in 'Healthier Food and Special Diets'. Using the accreditation, Simon and Samantha will be able to help customers understand the food and ingredients on offer at Oldbury's and give them advice on how to create nutritious and tasty meals.

"These accreditations are really important to us at Oldbury's as they ensure we can create menus and develop a range that gives people healthy choices," adds Simon. "It's our ambition that everyone who works at Oldbury's gains the qualification so that customers can get the nutritional advice they need when they need it."
