Creating a choir of a thousand voices

NEWBURY will soon echo to the sounds of a thousand angelic voices. As part of the town's late night Thursday shopping events the Newbury Business Improvement District (BID) is aiming to create a never seen before singing spectacular.

Choirs from across the area will be keeping shoppers entertained at seven locations around town throughout the evening on December 12th, before everyone comes together for the big festive finale. And this is where your town needs you.

Sing for Fun will be conducting the final four Christmas carols in Market Place at 7pm and it is hoped that members of the public will all join in to create the magical sounds of a Choir of 1,000 Voices. You don't need to be able to sing like a professional, just come along and join in the fun.

There will be song sheets available so there is no excuse not to sing along to Jingle Bells, Ding Dong Merrily on High, Silent Night and We Wish you a Merry Christmas. So warm up your voices and head into Market Place to be part of some Christmas magic.

Throughout December there will also be local choirs and groups performing around the town centre at the weekend. The Newbury BID is currently looking for choirs who would like to take part. For more information email Suzanne Young on suzanne@newburybid.com.
