Title: Newbury Market has recently undergone some changes.

Newbury Market has recently undergone some changes.

The Market Place layout has been changed to create an "avenue" effect whilst shopping at the Market. The change has been welcomed by traders and customers alike with traders reporting seeing a number of new faces at the market and sales have been improving in the last couple of weeks since the move around.

Visitors to Newbury Market can also now expect to see stalls along Northbrook Street on a Saturday and Bartholomew Street on a Saturday and Thursday.

The market now has around 34 quality stalls to choose from ranging from our traditional fruit 'n' veg stall to incense, cupcakes and pre-loved clothes and 'shabby chic' furniture.

Councillor Julian Swift-Hook, Leader of the Council said "Newbury Town Council is committed to supporting the continued growth of our beloved Market and the recent changes are extremely positive for Newbury. Whilst retaining our traditional market stalls we are attracting some more unusual and Artisan stalls too."

Newbury Town Council would welcome any feedback from users of the Market on the new layout, or suggestions on how it could be improved. Please email towncouncil@newbury.gov.uk with your comments or see our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/newburymarket . Thank you.

Let's just hope the Council are right.  To the uninitiated, it just looks like a slow decline.  Several stalks have come and gone; the one that sold biscuits, the other fruit and veg stall, etc.  Do the non returners give any useful feedback?  Could we usefully merge the farmers market? A crowd attracts a crowd.
