Is Victoria Park becoming a "No Go" area after dark?
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after two robberies in Newbury.
At 9.20pm on Saturday 9th November an 18-year-old man was walking through Victoria Park when he was robbed.
The offenders kicked and punched the victim to the ground. They stole a Blackberry 9320 with a blue front and red back. The phone was damaged at the top.
The offenders are six white men, around 6ft tall. Five offenders were wearing dark clothing with a hooded top and the other offender was wearing a coloured hooded top.
At 11pm on Saturday 9th November a 19-year-old man was walking through Victoria Park when he was approached by a group of men.
The victim was hit with a bottle before being kicked and punched to the ground. Offenders stole a wallet, ID card and cash.
The offenders are four men. All offenders were wearing dark clothing with hooded tops. One offender was wearing a patterned body warmer with a dark grey hooded top underneath.
A small, dark coloured car was seen in the area around the time of the second offence.
Both victims sustained bruising to the face and body. They did not require hospital treatment.
PC Nigel Woodall from Newbury police station said: "A taxi was seen in the area at the time of the second offence. Please can the driver come forward if he has any information that can help with our investigation."
