Post by: Administrator on November 24, 2013, 01:39:45 pm
Newbury Christmas Tree Comes to Life.
Saturday 30th November, The Market Place, Newbury.

Keeping with tradition, Father Christmas will once again switch on the lights to illuminate the Christmas Tree and Market Place, with the help of some very special friends.

The fun starts in the Kennet Centre at 4.30pm with the Burghclere Hand Bell Ringers, then the focus switches to the Market Place at 5:30pm with Heart Radio presenters, Matt and Michelle, and two Berkshire Maestro choirs, Cantati Bei and Sing Thing.

They will perform a programme of choral music, including pop and Christmas favourites. They are both open-access, non auditioned choirs for boys and girls, conducted by Rebecca Berkley. They recently returned from a tour to Salzburg,

Enjoy hot food from around the Market Place, and meet the reindeer. Father Christmas Parade leaves the Clock Tower at 6:10pm, with the big switch on happening at 6:30pm. This will then be followed by a performance by Watership Brass.
