I was wondering if anyone remembers an old antique shop that was situated in the covered 'arcade' that ran from the lock at Bridge Street and exited by the old Tudor Cafe?
I can recall passing by it whenever I used to walk that way with my mother in the 1950s. We used to put a penny in a cage that had a mechanical bird in it whenever we passed by. I have seen an old photo showing a sign saying 'antiques' by the exit near the cafe but that's all . Would love to have a name or any other memories of the shop as I have fond memories of it.
Thank you
