Title: Newbury Carnival
Post by: Number 6 on June 25, 2015, 12:55:30 pm
Great to see the news that the Carnival is going from strength to strength again with a record number of entries.

Takes me back to my youth when it always provided a good afternoons entertainment that flowed into an evening of rather too much merry making. Even the times when it rained it did not spoil the occasion and it is very encouraging that the community spirit is still very strong in the West Berkshire area. These days I will have to prop myself up by a wall with my walking stick but I will be there to drop the odd shekel or two into the collection buckets. Lets hope for plenty of sunshine and a great carnival atmosphere.
Be seeing you.

Had a fabulous time at the Carnival with a fantastic procession and plenty going on in Victoria Park. There was a great atmosphere in town as the floats and walking exhibits went by with some really fantastic costumes - Notting Hill eat your heart out (well almost !). Sadly tired legs and aching joints mean that I am now a home rather than enjoying a night of fun as in my youth but I hope to be around for the next one in two years time. Hope the weather is as good.

Be seeing you
