Concern that Peter Sutcliffe could be moved from Broadmoor to Thornford Park
Conservatives at West Berkshire Council expressed concern that national and local media reports are suggesting that Peter Sutcliffe, the convicted murderer known as the Yorkshire Ripper could be moved from the high security unit at Broadmoor to the less secure unit at the Priory, Thornford Park.
Cllr. Gordon Lundie, Leader West Berkshire Conservatives commented: "If these reports are true, I shall be asking Richard Benyon to raise this matter urgently with the Ministry of Justice."
"As far as we know, he has no connections with this part of the world and if this represents a step in him eventually being released on parole, surely the Ministry of Justice ought to find a place for him, nearer to where he could eventually live?
