Please report any anti-social driving in rural areas

Thames Valley Police is urging residents in West Berkshire to report any incidents of any vehicles driving in an irresponsible and anti-social manner, especially 4x4s.

Two reports were received on Tuesday from members of the public reporting this issue.

At around 2.48pm, in Bucklebury Common, a blue Land Rover and silver Discovery damaged land by driving across the common and fields.

The other incident took place at around 3.20pm in Marlston, Hermitage. Two 4x4 vehicles damaged the banks of the River Pang. The vehicles are described as silver Isuzu and the other was believed to be an older model, dark blue Land Rover.

Supt Robin Rickard, Commander for West Berkshire, said: “Preventing and detecting rural crime is one of the priorities of Thames Valley Police and we would urge members of the public to report any incidents of this nature to us immediately, so that we can act on information at the earliest opportunity.

“We are committed to tackling rural crime and proactively taking every opportunity to keep the levels of rural crime down in the West Berkshire local policing area, dealing robustly with offenders and protecting our rural communities."

Anyone who witnesses a 4x4 driving anti-socially should call the police immediately and provide as much detail as possible such as the make, model and registration number via the 24-hour non-emergency Police Enquiry Centre number 101.
