Micro Focus
« on: September 02, 2017, 11:27:27 am »
Now that Micro Focus are the largest tech company in the country let's hope our council concentrate their energies on using their planning powers to help them stay in Newbury. With their existing head office full to overflowing an accommodating approach to their needs could well create further inward investment in Newbury, with the subsequent employment and revenue wealth that would generate. This would seem a proper use of the councils planning powers rather than it's more speculative schemes.

The trouble is, given the severe austerity measures WBC have had to introduce, there isn't a cent left to spare on even considering such ventures.  Unfortunate, yes, but when you gave no money even to run a public lavatory, it's understandable.

Sad to see that Micro Focus are facing some inevitable integration challenges which will inevitably turn attention inward for a while. Lets hope they also find enough resource and energy to concentrate on opportunities as well, as a very large swathe of their potential customer base has to focus on ROI (return on investment) as global businesses comes under pressure due to the prevailing economic climate and slowly rising interest rates.
